Sports Injuries

Sports Injuries such as ankle sprains are common injuries that occur among people of all ages and activity levels; in fact, they are the number one reason for missed participation in athletics.

Sprains occurs when the strong ligaments that support the joints, such as the ankle, stretch beyond their limits and tear. The severity of a sprain can vary greatly depending on the number of ligaments involved and the extent to which the ligaments are torn.

Most sprains heal with of conservative care of ice and elevation. Chiropractic can assist with reducing inflammation, increasing joint function and offering prescribed rehabilitation exercises.

Without proper treatment and rehabilitation, a chronic or untreated severe sprain can weaken your ankle, making it more likely that you will injure it again. Repeated ankle sprains can lead to long-term problems, including chronic ankle pain, arthritis, and instability.

"Keeping active plays such an essential role in healthcare. But with sport comes along the occasional injury. Whenever I can get someone back  into their regular sports routine I feel it's a win for their long-term physical and mental health."
